The Origin of World Forest Day

World Forest Day was initiated and unanimously adopted by Spain in 1971 at the Tenerife Congress of the European Union of Agriculture. It was officially recognized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in November of the same year. It is a day to draw the attention of all countries to forest resources, the green protector of mankind, and to realize the sustainable use of forest resources by harmonizing the relationship between mankind and forests.

The Status of the Forests

Currently, the total global forest area is 4.06 billion hectares, and Russia accounts for 20% of the worldwide proportion, the first in the world; followed by Brazil with 12% of the global proportion of rainforest and national parks resources; and the third is Canada with 9%.

Over the past 30 years, more than 170 million hectares of the Earth’s living environment have been destroyed, directly causing a decrease in the number of plants and animals and in the number of species. In addition to this, the presence of humans has led to a reduction of almost 420 million hectares of the Earth’s forests in the last 30 years.

What we can do for the environment?

1. Bring your own glass of water outside to reduce bottled drinks.

2. Bring your own environmental bags when shopping, and use as few plastic bags as possible.

3. Try to transform old things, such as DIY plant pots with finished drink bottles, make bags and mops with old fabrics, etc.

4. When working, print on both sides to save half of the paper.

5. Occasionally adjust the means of travel, such as taking public transport, or riding a bicycle, not only for environmental protection but also to reap a different experience.

6. Many items can be bought second-hand, such as children’s toys, extra-curricular books, etc.

7. Do not litter, remember to advocate family participation, especially the children to develop their environmental awareness from an early age.

8. As much as possible, more greenery, in the home balcony can also be, all have the role of landscaping.

Paying more attention to these everyday details, these acts have a small but gentle power over the environment.

What our patch can do for the environment?

1. Environmental themes Patches

More and more people are interested in products with an eco-friendly theme. One way of conveying this message is through embroidered patches, which sell great because they are both beautiful and practical!

  • Trees, forests, sea, mountains, and bees patches in jackets or hats remind everyone to love nature and animals.
  • Cycling, camping, or hiking even quote signs like the NO PLASTIC logo, and the NO PLAN B on our earth sign, advise everyone to protect the planet!

2. Reduce unnecessary waste

Never forget, the original purpose of patches is not just decoration, it is only repair tools. It can reduce the frequency of old clothing being discarded. If your clothes or bags etc accidentally break a small hole, just order some badges to iron on or sew on. The DIY process is not only fun but also much more environmentally friendly than you buying a new one.

3. Recycle Patch

I don’t know about you, but I’m really into the idea of saving our planet. You might think that embroidery patch is just a little detail – something no one cares about — but we want to create beautiful things that help people feel more connected and hopeful.
